Dates: Spring Break 2011: March 13-20, 2011

A week long guided tour and immersion into Jerusalem's ancient and newer religious sites and practices. From thousand year old monasteries to modern day non-Abrahamic religions. The program is all inclusive on the ground. (lodging, meals, all group activities, transportation and transfers to all group activities, tours, entertainment and sightseeing). The tour will comprise visits, talks and dialogues with believers, practitioners and scholars of different religions present in the city of Jerusalem. We will visit ancient monasteries, mosques, synagogues and churches. As part of our dialogues, we will visit with monastics and mystics and be invited to partake in their practices and observances. Interwoven within the tour we will also enjoy musical and cultural presentations, city tours and free time to visit the old markets, worship, attend lectures, shopping and enjoying the night life.



The tour costs are $2,428.90 (when paying by credit card) or 2,270.00/person (when paying without using a credit card) - and it includes lodging for 8 days - 7 nights, three meals a day, all program activities, all transfers and transportation to all program related activities, all the program related tours, sightseeing, cultural events and entertainment.

Sample Daily Itinerary (subject to change)

THE MARTIN BUBER INSTITUTE FOR DIALOGICAL ECOLOGY
FIELD WORKSHOP IN JERUSALEM
Dates: March 13-20, 2011.

Included in the cost of the program are 8 days - 7 nights lodging in hotel in Jerusalem, three daily meals, transfers and transportation to all program activities, all program activities, city tours, sightseeing and excursions and cultural events. Total cost: $2,428.90 (when paying by credit card) or 2,270.00 (when paying without using a credit card) 


Day one: Arrival and transfer from Ben Gurion International Airport to Jerusalem Hotel. After check-in, we will have an orientation meeting followed by a "Getting to Know You- City Tour" of important sites in Jerusalem. Welcome dinner with many of our different hosts in Jerusalem, and a cultural presentation.


Day Two
: After Breakfast, morning visit to central Christian sites in Jerusalem. Churches, Monasteries, Sites, etc. After Lunch: Visits to churches and monasteries for talks with Church authorities of different denominations: Latin Patriarchate, Armenian Patriarchate, Ethiopian Coptics, Greek Orthodox, Protestant, etc. After Dinner: talk with scholars on the history of Christianity in Jerusalem.


Day Three: After Breakfast, morning visit to central Islamic sites in Jerusalem. The Haram al Sharif. After Lunch. Visits to Jerusalem mosques for talks with Islamic Religious leaders from different denominations: Sunni, Shi'a, etc. After dinner, talk with scholars on the history of Islam in Jerusalem.




Day Four
: After breakfast, morning visit to central Jewish sites in Jerusalem. The Wailing Wall, the old city, the Chief Rabbinate, etc.. After lunch: visits to synagogues for talks with Rabbinical Authorities from different denominations: Hasidic, Orthodox, Reforms, etc. After dinner, talk with scholars on the history of Judaism in Jerusalem.

Day Five: Tour to the Dead Sea, to the Qumran community (site of the Dead Sea Scrolls) and to the Greek Orthodox desert monastery.




Day Six: Free morning to tour and shop in the city. After Lunch: visits with Buddhist Practitioners in Jerusalem. After Dinner: meetings with practitioners of other religions: Baha'i, Hindus, etc.

Day SevenAfter breakfast: Tour to the Palestinian Authority city of Bethlehem (Church of the Nativity). After lunch: visits with "the mystics" from the three Abrahamic religions: Kabbalists, Monks, Sufis, etc. After dinner: farewell Dinner with a musical and theatrical presentation.
